Texas Congressional Election 2012 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PRO-LIFE AND WILL VOTE AS A CONGRESSMAN 100% PRO-LIFE. I AM A BORN AGAIN BELIEVER AND IF CHRIST DIED FOR ME, HE ALSO DIED FOR THE UNBORN.
No Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
No Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
Afghanistan is a place that we should not be. The rules of engagement and their (afghanies), way of life makes it impossible for US victory. Let's get out without declaring our every move.

Yes do you support reducing defense spending?
No do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes do you support reducing Medicaid spending?
Yes do you support reducing Medicare spending?
Yes Is balancing the budget a legislative priority?
I believe we should cut wasteful spending in every government program (including military). I am also going to propose a 10% cut in salaries of every government job including congress, senate and the Presidents salary. We need to lead by example.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
This is what taintes elected officials into passing laws the benefit the few at the expense of the american tax payer.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Capital punishment should always be a direct deterrent of those who contemplate taking innocent lives.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
No Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
My only yes has to do with my wanting to cut corporate tax rates dramatically to encourage US corporations to come back home and create American jobs.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
I believe every state should keep their tax base home, instead of sending it to Washington, so they can fund their education as they think best. Keep Washington out.
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
I have worked in the energy sector 30+ years, and have personally seen what negotiations has done to American companies trying to compete globally. Some regulations are necessary, but the last 20 years have seen them go too far.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
climate change is a means to control American ingenuity and take control of the "free" american peoples. Our liberties are at stake if we follow the climate change con artists.

The 2nd Amendment is clear and simple "The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Enough said!
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
This will destroy the liberties of those who fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice. We must not let their sacrifice (US SOLDiERS), go in vain.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Yes Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
I believe those who came as minors, should file for immigration properly and then pay a retribution based on number of years here, before becoming citizens. I also support their citizenship if they honorably served in the US armed forces.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
Marriage should be kept and encouraged between one man and one woman.
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?

Nuclear weapons in the hands of the wrong leader creates A present and imminent danger to the US citizenry.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
We have to slowly take SS out of the hands of politicians and put it in the hands of private sector.

categories (c - k), will be handled by my proposal to levy a flat, consumption tax of 23% on all citizens. Every one will become a tax payer.
Immigration reform is tops on my list. We have to close the border to illegal immigration, drug traffikers and terrorists who are infiltrating our southern borders daily. Energy exploration and American energy growth is vital to the future of our country. We have to become energy independent by allowing offshore drilling once again. Allow oil and gas fracking throughout the US. Once and for all allow drilling in ANWAR and build the XL Keystone pipeline so we can transport pure and rich oil from Montana, North Dakota and of course Canada. We must be American business friendly. As a [...]
